Image Critique

This participatory presentation/workshop takes a constructive approach to image critique that will help us to see, analyze and talk more thoughtfully about our images. The evaluation process is broken into a sequence of steps with useful guidelines that serve as a framework for looking at images constructively. Traditional judging standards and technical elements are considered, but the primary focus of this critique is on an image’s emotional, conceptual and aesthetic appeal and its ability to communicate with a viewer.

The first half of the presentation/workshop introduces a simple framework for image evaluation. In the second half Kas leads a group discussion of images submitted by club members and, whenever possible, demonstrates simple edits that might strengthen them. ;

Format: 2-hour presentation or full-day workshop.
